Liverpool’s Royal Court have announced their socially distanced Royal Court Selection Box Christmas Show, which is at the theatre from 20th November 2020 – 9th January 2021.
The Royal Court Selection Box will feature a mix of comedy, music and a host of familiar Liverpool’s Royal Court faces. It has been developed and will be directed by Stephen Fletcher, with additional material from the cast.
To enable the theatre to employ as many actors as possible and keep them all safe backstage, the cast will change throughout the run of shows with half a dozen appearing every night.
Performers confirmed so far, with more to be announced, include Roy Brandon, Eithne Browne, Jamie Clarke, Michael Fletcher, Stephen Fletcher, Lindzi Germain, Cath Rice, Andrew Schofield, Hayley Sheen, Michael Starke, Keddy Sutton and Liam Tobin.
Kevin Fearon, Executive Producer at Liverpool’s Royal Court, said:
“After the year we’ve all had it’s a real treat to know that we are going to have an audience back in the building. We can’t wait to see all of the cast, crew and our regulars back enjoying themselves.
“Everybody has been really understanding as we have moved shows and tickets around, so it feels good to give them something back. We have got plans in place for more shows in the New Year, so if all goes well over Christmas, we can look forward to a busy 2021!”
The venue has safety plans in place, including socially distanced cast and audiences, temperature checks, new cleaning procedures, enhanced table service, one way systems, paperless tickets and hand sanitisers.
The staff will be wearing face coverings and the audience will be asked to do the same while moving around the building. Once the audience are in their socially distanced seats, they can keep their face coverings on or take them off to eat and drink.
Liverpool’s Royal Court guarantees to refund or exchange tickets for anybody affected by Covid-19, or if any performances are cancelled.
