The Everyman & Playhouse have delivered their first letter for Love, Liverpool: An A-Z of Hope.

The first letter begins with a story from Mandy Redvers-Rowe, called Love Letter to Merseyrail. It is read by Chloe Phillips. The story is a journey into her love for Merseyrail, as she navigates the route with her guide dog Sally.

Screenwriter and novelist Frank Cotrell Boyce delivers a few treats as part of his virtual ‘picnic’. The treats include a story about his time as part of the Everyman Youth Theatre.

The first letter also includes stories from people in Liverpool, painting a picture of the city.

Gemma Bodinetz, Artistic Director of Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse Theatres, said:

“The response to our Love, Liverpool digital project has been overwhelming and a real source of hope and joy to those of us working on the project. We can’t wait to share it with you. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project; this is your Liverpool and we couldn’t have done it without you”.

Everyman & Playhouse received almost one hundred story submissions and photographs exploring the Liverpool City Region.

These have now been edited into the letters for Love: Liverpool: An A-Z of Hope, along with messages from friends of the theatres including Jonathan Harvey, Cathy Tyson and David Morrissey.

You can listen to Love: Liverpool: An A-Z of Hope at the Everyman & Playhouse Website, or on your Podcast Platform of choice.
